After a long period of preparation, the first pile went into the ground, on Friday 12 November. The founder and owner of Howitec Joop Witteveen and Marco Anneveldt as director welcomed their guests under a pleasant November sun to experience this historic moment together.
With the necessary weight, the impressive pile driver ensured that the pile disappeared smoothly into the ground, which also symbolized the start of the construction project and that everyone could toast to a prosperous future.
In terms of construction, the building will fully meet the sustainability requirements of today and the future, in which energy neutrality plays an important role. The building has optimal insulation and ventilation, and solar panels will also contribute to its own energy supply. Instead of gas, use will be made of geothermal heat in combination with heat pumps.
With the growth ambition towards the future, the new business premises will have a broader layout than the current building in Bolsward, where we as a company have been for almost 25 years. The warehouse will be 10 meters high, which will create more storage space, especially in height. In addition, this height provides good visibility from the A7 motorway. In addition, the workplace and office area is more spacious
The new premises will be located at Morseweg 9 at the De Woudfennen business park in Joure, the Netherlands. Joure is about 25 kilometers east of Bolsward. The delivery of the new building will take place in the second half of May 2022. The design was created in collaboration with construction and design agency Mark de Witte. The further implementation and realization of the project is in the hands of construction company Friso and installation company Donker Veenstra, which has resulted in a beautiful Frisian coalition.
