Autumn leaves are the cause of many problems in many gardenponds. In the autmn, leaves will blow in the pond and after a period,  the bottom of the pond has a thick layer of silt. This sludgelayer makes the pond water very rich in nutrients, thus floating algae and green water will emerge in the pond. The best solution to avoid the leaves will fall in the pond, is the use of a pondnet over the pond. This way you keep your pond clean with a minimal effort.
